What is a Shuttle Vehicle AS/RS?

Shuttle Vehicle AS/RS is an automated warehouse system that stores and retrieves pallets at high speed. No need for large cranes like AS/RS Traditional. This system uses an automated shuttle that operates independently on guide rails inside the rack. All goods are stored and retrieved using pre-programmed aisle cranes. Main Structure of Shuttle AS/RS System

Warehouse Shelves: Designed with deep storage channels and dedicated guide rails for shuttles.

Automatic Shuttle: It is a self-propelled device capable of lifting and placing large loads. Some advanced versions are also capable of 4-way movement.

Lifting System: Responsible for vertical transportation of shuttles and goods.

Operating Principle

The warehouse racks are equipped with narrow rails that allow pallet trucks to access all storage lanes. The lift system allows access to all warehouse levels. Most pallet trucks are “father and son” configurations. The small truck can be detached from the large truck to transport pallets down narrow and deep aisles. The lift system will take the pallet from receiving to the designated warehouse floor. It will then be transported by a shuttle to the designated storage lane. Once in the storage lane, the small shuttle will separate from the large shuttle to complete the transport of the pallet to the final storage location.
