Drive-in Racking

Drive-in racking is a high-density industrial storage system designed to maximize storage space in depth. It allows forklifts to drive directly into the rack to load and unload palletized goods. By eliminating most aisles between rack rows, this system increases storage capacity up to 70% compared to standard racking. Drive-in racking operates on the LIFO (Last In, First Out) principle. It is an ideal solution for storing large quantities of homogeneous goods (with few varieties), especially in cold storage or raw material warehouses.

Description

What is drive-in racking?

Drive-in racking is a high-density industrial storage system designed to maximize storage space in depth. It allows forklifts to drive directly into the rack to load and unload palletized goods. By eliminating most aisles between rack rows, this system increases storage capacity up to 70% compared to standard racking. Drive-in racking operates on the LIFO (Last In, First Out) principle. It is an ideal solution for storing large quantities of homogeneous goods (with few varieties), especially in cold storage or raw material warehouses.

Drive-in racking systems feature a fully plug-in assembly structure with high durability, good rigidity, and an attractive appearance. The guide beams are made of inclined cold-bent steel, and the top beam and columns are bolted together. The total depth of the racks in the wall area is typically best controlled within 7 pallets, and the total depth of the racks in the middle area, accessible from both sides, is typically best controlled within 12 pallets, improving the efficiency and reliability of forklift access.

The outstanding advantages of Drive-in Racking

Optimize warehouse space utilization, increasing warehouse space capacity up to 70%

Drive-in racking is densely packed and highly efficient. It's nearly twice as efficient as traditional racking. standard pallet racking.

Suitable for storing large quantities of goods of the same type. Allows for high-density storage of goods.

Goods can be stored and retrieved from the same side (FIFO). Or they can be stored from one side and retrieved from the other (FIFO).

It is the ideal solution for warehouses that do not require high-level sorting of goods.

Practical applications

Drive-in racking is the optimal choice for the following industries and types of goods:

The products are available in large quantities but with limited varieties.

High storage density reduces the volume of air that needs to be cooled, saving energy costs.

Suitable for goods with strict expiration dates, or for long-term storage due to the LIFO principle.

Effective in warehouses with high ceilings or small floor areas.

Drive-in Racking Specifications

Similar to pallet racking, the first step is to determine the type of pallet, its specifications, dimensions, height, and weight of the goods, as well as the specifications of the forklift to be used. Determine the number of pallets for each type of goods to be stored. Calculate to determine the height, spacing, depth, shelf height, and other parameters. These can be customized to meet customer needs.
